RGWM is pleased to announce that it recently passed recertification as a B Corp. The firm first became a B Corp in 2019 and is subject to recertification every three years. Our score improved from 81.9 in 2019 to 105.9. RGWM’s score was achieved by answering 186 questions related to Governance, Community, Workers, Environment and Customers.

B Corps are businesses that use their power to make a positive impact on society and the planet. They aim to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy and redefine success in business. There are currently 7,665 B Corps in more than 93 countries in over 161 industries. To be certified, B Corps must meet high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency. This includes factors such as employee benefits, charitable giving, supply chain practices, and input materials.

As a B Corp, RGWM strives to use our business as a force for good and continually improve how we operate to be a better member of our community and the planet. Some of the things we’ve done include:

  • Volunteering in the local community, most recently at the SF-Marin Food Bank.
  • Creating an inclusive and desirable place to work with unlimited time off, competitive compensation and flexible, hybrid work schedules.
  • Reducing our carbon footprint by embracing hybrid work, leveraging technology for client and team meetings, encouraging a paperless office, and using recycled paper when printing is necessary.
  • Investing most of our clients’ money in funds that use environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.

RGWM is also a member of 1% for the Planet, a global network of businesses, individuals and environmental organizations tackling our planet’s most pressing environmental issues. Members must donate 1% of revenue to qualifying environmental non-profits each year. RGWM has donated to a range of organizations, including the Pachamama Alliance, Environmental Defense Fund, and the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

While we are happy with the progress we’ve made towards being a better business, we aim to use the B Corp recertification process to continually strive for improvement in our relationship with all our stakeholders.
